City of Gweru has adopted Statutory Instrument 185 of 2020 which allows payment of goods and services in both local currency and USD (DUAL Pricing).

The accounting system has been configured to accommodate those paying in foreign currency.

The government urged businesses to offer paying systems for both Zimbabwean dollar and Foreign currency for goods and services offered.

The Acting Director of Finance Mr Michael Verenga said that the implementation of dual pricing will allow the City of Gweru clients and stakeholders to pay their dues in the currency they are comfortable with.

“This gives the option to pay for the services acquired in either local or foreign currency” said Mr Verenga.

City of Gweru has resolved to adoption of dual pricing in order to perfect their service delivery.
