Gweru City Council recently celebrated a major milestone with the arrival of two new ambulances, a significant step toward improving healthcare for local residents.
His Worship the Mayor said that, the new ambulances mark a significant investment in the city’s health system and a brighter, healthier future for Gweru’s residents.
“This is about more than just vehicles, It’s about ensuring every resident has access to emergency care.” said the Mayor.
Mr. Kudakwashe Shonhiwa the City of Gweru Procurement Manager explained that, the new ambulance were secured through a competitive tender process done in 2023.
Mr. Shonhiwa said that, the ambulances were funded from the Council’s internal resources. He further explained that the decision to allocate funds from within the council reflects the Council’s ongoing commitment to strengthening local healthcare services.
