City of Gweru councillors and management were vaccinated at the Town House on the 7th of April 2021 as a way of curbing the COVID 19 virus. City of Gweru councillors and management have set an example for the rest of the city by taking the initiative to get vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.
His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Josiah Makombe, who also got vaccinated process, encouraged leaders to set an example for Gweru citizens to get
vaccinated. “Leaders should lead by example by taking the COVID 19 jab”, said the Mayor. City of Gweru Nursing Officer Sr Rosemary Mlambo noted that, people should not consume alcohol for 30 days after getting vaccinated. “I urge you not to drink alcohol, if you decide to drink reduce the level of intake,” said Sister Mlambo. She also enouraged those who were vaccinated to return for the second vaccination on 4 May 2021.
