GRF CREATES A DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT PLATFORM FOR THE COUNCIL OF GWERU

Gweru Residents Forum created a digital engagement platform, The G-City application, to enhance communication and service delivery. Speaking at the presentation of the mobile application to council management, GRF Director Mr Charles Mazorodze said his organisation mainly created this platform to ease service delivery . Mazorodze said through funding that his organisation got from GIZ they managed to work on the mobile application to improve service delivery in the city of Gweru.
City of Gweru, Communication and Public Relations officer Ms Vimbai Chingwaramusee said the initiative is good as it paves way for the smart city concept. Chingwaramusee said the local authority is so grateful to GRF for being innovative to assist the local authority, “We are indeed grateful that GRF was innovative to assist the city of Gweru to improve service delivery”
City of Gweru, Acting Town Clerk Vakai Chikwekwe commended, GRF for their efforts, “I am happy because this is a start of a new relationship with a residents association, we need to divorce from cat and mouse relationships between council and residents and vice versa”.
