16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence Workshop

City of Gweru hosted a gender based violence awareness meeting for students on Work Related Learning on the 26th of November 2020.

At an event graced by many speakers City of Gweru Gender champion, Clr C Mhondiwa said it was important for students on Work Related Learning to understand gender based violence and to know the reporting structure at the council. based on G.B.V. In her remarks Clr Mhondiwa said ,’’ confidence is your shield to G.B.V.’’

The City of Gweru Gender focal person Mrs Jaji emphasised on the importance of self love and communication as a weapon against G.B.V ‘Mrs Jaji encouraged students to report any forms of gender based violence at the workplace. “I am calling upon all the students here to report any forms of gender based violence let it be known that silence is violence, speak out and get help”, she said.
